Applying green skills and environmental sustainability in sports training
The course introduces participants to sustainability and social responsibility in sports. Based on evidence-based knowledge, it demonstrates how to apply these principles in coaching practice – from choosing eco-friendly equipment and managing water and energy use to reducing waste and using the environment with respect for nature.
The graduate is able to use both consumable and non-consumable materials with minimal environmental impact. They understand the issue of water resource waste and know how to use water effectively in sports. They can also manage food and electricity used in sports and physical activities with the least possible environmental impact. Overall, the graduate can assess the carbon footprint of sporting activities (within their own specialization) and minimize it while maintaining the quality and requirements of the sport. They can effectively use outdoor environments for sports and physical activities in a way that minimizes environmental strain, while being aware of potential risks that may arise from this effort due to the nature of the specific activity.
