PATL128C Athletic Conditioning - Winter Course

A 5-day course in Horní Malá Úpa, where students will learn the basics of winter fitness training. They will gain knowledge about organizing general fitness training and the basics of developing endurance and strength in mountain conditions. The course covers the basics of developing aerobic and anaerobic endurance in the form of running exercises, high-altitude hiking, and exercises using cross-country skis. Students are also introduced to basic training tools and methods for developing general strength abilities. The course also includes morning breathing exercises and the basics of cold acclimatization. Students will try their hand at leading a training session on a given topic. Didactic output and active participation in the course are also credit requirements.
